I spent my recent leave camping and diving in the Florida Keys. At one location on a reef, when briefed about the area, we were told to keep our eyes out for a stone plaque. It had been placed there back in the seventies by students of a local school. It marked the location where a slave ship had run aground two hundred years ago, with a catastrophic loss of life. When I found it, the words were no longer legible, but the knowledge of why it was there moved me.

With the girls all aboard the Guide Mini Bus we set off to have an overnight camp at Garden Cottage on the evening of Friday 9th June.
