ARGENTINA has given a warning of “a drastic change” in its quest for sovereignty over the Falklands. It has also accused Britain of bad faith for failing to enter substantive talks on the future of the islands over which the two countries went to war 24 years ago.

I spent my recent leave camping and diving in the Florida Keys. At one location on a reef, when briefed about the area, we were told to keep our eyes out for a stone plaque. It had been placed there back in the seventies by students of a local school. It marked the location where a slave ship had run aground two hundred years ago, with a catastrophic loss of life. When I found it, the words were no longer legible, but the knowledge of why it was there moved me.

With the girls all aboard the Guide Mini Bus we set off to have an overnight camp at Garden Cottage on the evening of Friday 9th June. This was only the second time camp for, Khiya, Lucy, Lauren, Louanne, Imogen, Shannon, Nicola, Hannah, Gemma and Jasmine so you can imagine the excitement in the air for the younger ones!! Those who have been to camp umpteen times just played it “cool”.
